Editorial policy
Clear Sports Journal aims to make sports explanations accurate, readable and fair. We distinguish established rules from interpretation, identify uncertainty where it matters, and correct substantive errors openly.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against relevant, dependable material before publication and take care with terminology, scoring and the sequence of play. Rules can differ between formats and competitions; when a distinction affects the explanation, we state the context rather than flattening it into a universal rule. Our articles explain sport and are not personal coaching, medical or other professional advice.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader value, not to serve a commercial partner or a team, athlete, league or product. Any relationship that could reasonably affect how a piece is read will be disclosed alongside the relevant material.
Corrections
If a reader spots an error, they can write through the Contact page and identify the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests, amend substantiated errors and make clear when a meaningful correction has been made.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner material is clearly labelled wherever it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that is the case, they are identified as illustrative and are not presented as documentary images.
Understanding starts with knowing what to watch
A rule can change the shape of a whole contest. We make the details easier to follow without pretending every game has one right way to be read.
